Links
These pages provide links to all the Web sites mentioned in the text of The Genealogists' Internet to save you having to copy them from the book. Note that they are given in the strict order of their occurrence in the text, and page numbers are indicated in square brackets.
All the Web addresses given in the book were correct at the start of August 2005, and any I know to have moved since are marked
. Unfortunately, some sites or pages simply disappear, and these are marked
.
All 1450 odd links on these pages were last checked and updated in January 2009. 208 sites or pages have moved, and 58 disappeared since the text of the book was finalised. Note particularly that the National Archives, the National Archives of Ireland, the Society of Genealogists, and the BBC History web sites have all undergone reorganizations in which many pages have moved. All RootsWeb page have moved, though the old URLs still work at present. In one or two cases a URL still works but now takes you to a completely different site — I have marked these as ![]()
Please note that with the publication of the 4th Edition of The Genealogist's Internet in February 2009, the links for the 3rd Edition are no longer being updated.
