Search EnginesThe best way to ensure that people can find your page is to submit the details to one or more of the search engines on the Web. On the home page of each one, there should be a link taking you to a page where you can submit details. You only need to submit the details of your main genealogy page, as most search engines will come and explore your Web site for themselves, once they know of its existence. You should make sure you register your Web site with Google which is probably the most widely used search engine, and if possible some of the others. Of course, submitting details of your page to a lot of different search engines is a chore, so there are some special Web sites which allow you to submit your URL to a whole range of search engines at once. A good example is Evrsoft's FastSubmit, which covers over a hundred search engines. |
